Hi: My grandmother, the late Hattie Jane Tabor, who I am named for,was
always called Hattie even though her formal name is Harriett. This was a
very popular late 19th Century nickname/name and is on her tombstone. She
was born in 1888 to Marindy and Green Little, Georgia educators who taught
in a one room school house in Madison County,Georgia. Her last child who
is my mom was named Jimmie Lue and like her grandmother Marindy, was a
teacher. Marindy is also either another name or nickname for Marinda.
Jane Steele,MA educator.
