Dear Mr. Moore, Mr. Forsythe, and friends,
For what its worth, I agree with _both_ Mr. Moore and Mr. Forsythe. On the one hand, VA-HIST isn't a forum about the horrendous attack and its aftermath, just as Virginia history and _Arming America_ were not discussed at the candlelight prayer vigil at the Ruritan Community Center in Gladys, VA or at similar events elswhere on Friday.
  But that doesn't much matter.
Friday was a national day of prayer and meditation that we all needed - individually, as a nation, and with people of good will throughout a grieving world.
Like a child "shshsh'ed" by his parents in church, my silence was the appropriate response, to be followed with an apology AFTER the service ended.
The timing of my posting was insensitive.
I apologize to all who (I believe rightfully) were offended by its intrusion into a day that was focussed on more important things.
The posting could have waited. This little boy could have stopped fidgeting and kept quiet. Again, my apologies.

Jon Kukla
