Virginians have long memories, and also some knowledge of the law.   Please 
reference  
Ex Parte  Merryman, Federal Cases No.  9487 (1861); and Ex parte Milligan. 71 
U.S. 2 (1866)  before you criticize a failure of Virginians to relegate 
Lincoln to  sainthood.
