Everyone,

VCU's Year of Freedom program returns with, among other events, a series of free lunchtime lectures (bring your lunch), featuring, among others John Coski, of the Museum of the Confederacy, and Katherine Bassard, of VCU's English Department.

First up, yours truly, on Wednesday, 23 January, at noon at the Forum Room at the Student Commons, on the Monroe Park Campus. There are maps to parking at the VCU website.

My topic is entitled, "A Breakdown on the Underground Railroad: Petersburg 1858," which attentive readers may recall began, in different form, in the Library of Virginia's late, lamented Virginia Cavalcade.

See you there, and stay tuned for other events.

John
