Floyd's Brigade (four regiments and two(?) batteries were at Fort Donelson
(but evacuated before the surrender). Wise's Brigade was at Roanoke Island
NC (where it surrendered). Marshall's command in East Kentucky and the
troops with the Army of Tennessee have already been mentioned. A Virginia
battery (Botetourt Artillery) surrendered at Vicksburg. Virginia troops
periodically operated in Eastern North Carolina. But in terms of raw
manpower, the overwhelming majority of Virginia troops fought in Virginia.
