Position Title: Education Assistant & Lead Museum Teacher 

Job Objective: The Education Assistant has as primary responsibilities:
		1) The handling of the processing of reservations for the Court End Partners including the History Center, John Marshall House, and Monumental Church for adult programs and group visits, school programs, and youth programs and 
		2) Serving as the lead museum teacher to conduct educational programs in accordance with lesson plans developed by the History Center with high quality content and delivery.  
S/he coordinates and develops the volunteer newsletter, Inside Connection; supports the Assistant Director of Education and the Director of Education; recruits for the volunteer and internship programs; and actively supports the History Center's marketing plan.

Tenure: Temporary, grant-funded, full time position, August, 2007 - August, 2010
Hours:   40 hours per week, Monday - Friday; occasional weekend work
Salary:   $8.00 - 10.00 per hour with benefits

Requirements: 
	*	Bachelor of Arts in history, education or art history 
	*	Experience working in office environment or education environment with children and adults; teaching experience desired
	*	Self-starter with ability to work independently and as a member of a team 
	*	Ability to sell and promote programs to various customers
	*	Excellent customer service attitude 
	*	Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines
	*	Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required
	*	Excellent written and oral communication skills 
	*	Computer competency
