This is not going to be a very interesting post, but I'm hoping someone here may have run into the some difficulty I have regarding Westmoreland County Deeds, Wills and Orders, Book #19, 1793-1799.

The book binder itself says it includes Orders. The LVA web site of county microfilms says it contains orders for 1796. [There are order books for the years surrounding 1796, but nor 1796 itself, and yes I checked them both just in case.]

Today, I went through book #19 page by page at the court house and I assure you I could not find any court orders in this book other than those ordering a will, deed, inventory or account to record.

The reason this came up is that a client sent me a reference to a law suit supposedly in this book from May 1796. AIn't there!

Any ideas, anyone?

Craig

P.S. The title on the binder says "Part 1" but there does not seem to be a Part 2. It is not at the court house and is not on the LVA site. The extant book covers 1794-1799 (not 1793, though the earliest documents were executed, of course, before being recorded beginning in January 1794.)
