Forgot to mention that some of Michael Pfeifer's  research results published in his book, "Rough Justice, Lynching and American Society, 1874-1947"  are available on  his homepage (link below).  Scroll down to research by state.  Interesting.  One problem I have with Prof. Pfeifer is the shock of seeing his photo on his website; looks young enough to still be in middle-school.
