It gives me an unbelievable amount of pleasure to annouce the availability of the Jamestown Jubilee Audio CD. This is the definitive CD of Jamestown Centenary Music 1807, 1907 and 2007. 60 minutes of music and narration, performed by the award winning Wind Ensemble at Lehigh University.

Without the contributions from many of you out there, this would not have been possible, so many thanks.

At the moment, the CD is available from The Virginia Store at the Library of Virginia and from me. I expect that other sites throughout Virginia will carry it, and I plan to put it up on Amazon.com within a week or so. MSRP through local sources is $12 -- a real steal for such an historic and high quality product.

I'll probably be the only source that offers quantity discounts. If you order 10 or more, the price drops to $7. If your are remote from Richmond and want to order just a few from me, the price is $12. Add $3 for S/H for any quantity. i.e. whether you order one or 100, S/H is just $3. VA residents add 5% sales tax. The whole idea is to preserve, share, and celebrate the music of Jamestown.

If you want to hear-before-you-buy, I can attach to an EMail a 1-MB 2-1/2 minute MP3 file which has excerpts from four tracks:

#1 - Last part of the TRIO of the new march for 2007 THE TRUMPETER OF JAMESTOWN. (The TRIO is based on the ONLY tune that we know was played in the New World prior to Jamestowne - WILLEAMUS von NASSAU.)
#2 - Introduction to the 1807 Jamestown Jubilee by a narrator
#3 - Excerpt following #2 of the re-created Capt. NESTLE'S NORFOLK ARTILLERY BAND of Harmnonie Music (The military band of the early 1800's -- oboes, clarinets, natural horns (look Maw, no valves) bassoons)
#4 - The beginning of David Diggs Symphonic Suite for Band, based on James Horner's score for the movie "The New World"

Note that arrangements for ALL the music were created specifically for this CD, so you'll probably not ever hear such from any other source.

Thanks again for all your help.
