It is with great sadness that I let VA-HIST members know of the August 19 death of Karen Stuart of Alexandria, Va. She was a longtime member of VA-HIST and a devoted attendee of the Virginia Forum, so many of you may have known her personally. Karen was very active in the archives community, having worked at the Maryland State Archives, Maryland Historical Society, and since 1990, in the Manuscript Division at the Library of Congress.

The Baltimore Sun published a lovely tribute article on Karen on August 30, which is available online at http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/obituaries/bs-md-ob-karen-stuart-20140829,0,382950.story.
