I would recommend that you get in touch with the Virginia Historical
Society in Richmond to see if they are interested. They have a large
exhibit dealing with Virginia culture.

Subject: old polling place

I have just gotten a call from someone here in Albemarle County (son of
a former sherrif) who has, in a field he would like to plow, a portable
polling place. This is a wood-frame structure with a tin roof, about
7'x12', that was drawn by horseback and set up in a public place. The
owner remembers his father setting and manning the polling place as late
as the 1940s.

Any takers? Suggestions? Next stop, eBay. Actually, in two weeks it
becomes kindling.
