While I certainly applaud this effort will there be any attempt to scan
those civil war letters that are held by the various libraries around the
state and make them available? As an example the Library of Va has letters
in their manscript collection on William R Elam and the University of Va has
additional letters on W R Elam. None of which are scanned. When I had
copies of the file from UVA xeroxed by them, they made no adjustment for the
fact that several of them were on dark paper so I have black paper. A
digital scan would fix that problem.
