List of things Fort Monroe should be remembered for:

1.  The home of Training and Doctrine Command
2.  Used as a military factility since the 1600s.  Several names:  Fort 
Algernourne, Thee Fort at Old Point Comfort as well as Fort George.
3.  Prison for Black Hawk and Jefferson Davis and others.  
4.  Last active Moated Hexagonal Fort with casement design and function.   
5.  The home of the US Army Coastal Artillery 
6.  Location in which Major General Benjamin Butler made his 
famous "contraband" decision
