Virginia History Lecturer

Lecturer in Virginia History beginning August 1, 2007.  Full time,
12-month position.  Must also be able to offer general education course
in U.S. history.  Will teach at the Virginia Beach Higher Education
Center, and the Norfolk campus, both face-to-face and through distance
media; 4/4/2 teaching load with advising and committee duties.
Requirements: M.A. in history required; Ph.D. preferred with research
concentration in Virginia history.  Evidence of excellence in teaching
at the college level, prior experience teaching upper-division
undergraduate courses, and experience with distance learning and
electronic pedagogies desirable.  Please send letter of application
addressing your qualifications, CV, transcripts, and 3 letters of
recommendation to Dr. James R. Sweeney, chair of the search committee,
Department of History, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA 23529.
Review of applications will begin November 16, 2006 and continue until
