      Recent articles regarding the school board's in Augusta County
decision relating to bible classes have said that there was a statewide
test in 1929 on basic Bible facts which most elementary students failed.
resulting in Bible classes in Virginia schools, that such classes were
ruled unconstitutional in the 1940s and that the present system was then
developed.
