Lynching was fairly common in Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington before the Wobblies ever came along. Professor Michael J. Pfeifer of Evergreen State College, Olympia, Wa. presented a paper at the Conference on Lynching and Racial Violence at Emory University in Atlanta in Oct. 2002. I was long retired before this conference, but read the paper online.
