I visited Bacon's Castle in Surry VA yesterday (10-20-06). The tour was
very well done, a tour guide who clearly loved the house and was quite
knowledgeable. I have posted some photos at:

The little guidebook I bought says Sidney Lanier's novel, Tiger-Lilies, is
set at Bacon's Castle, although I have not been able to confirm this.
Does anyone know whether this is the case?
