While all must agree that "our greatest presidents have had some
pretty interesting private lives," I'm not so certain that "one of them said, "'Here I stand, warts and all.'"
 Perhaps so, but if one of our presidents did say that, he was quoting, respectively, Martin Luther (at the Diet of Worms) and Oliver Cromwell (to a portrait painter).
