I do not know many details yet but learned from a friend that the Trust for
Public
Land (TPL) received an appropriation from the NOAA Coastal &
Estuarine Land Protection Program for $2 million to be used towards
the purchase of 198-acres for preservation that include part of the
Green Spring battlefield of the Revolutionary War. In a very difficult
budget year, this is
quite an accomplishment and a critical step toward necessary $12.5
million goal needed to complete the purchase by December 2006.

For more information on Green Spring, go to www.battleofgreenspring.org.
