Today's U.S. copyright law gives a person all rights to material he/she
creates from the moment of creation. The copyright does not have to be
registered for it to exist. Please do not promulgate incorrect
information. There are extensive explanations of copyright law on the
U.S. Copyright website; you may wish to read them. Please see
http://www.copyright.gov/

One of them has two bottles of water and the other none. It would be like telling the other person they are out of luck because you paid for both bottles and they are not related to you. That is where ethics and morals come into play.

It would be great to see these companies get sued for breach of copyright law, but they know that most of us don't have the money to hire a lawyer and go through the entire process.
