Unlike 10-15 years ago, people of research age today have zero interest
in things "old" and those of us who have spent years researching our
families often find no one in the family interested in taking on the
task or even having copies of our work... sigh. Take the DENIO family
forum... one post all year long and only a handful the past 10 years. I
know there are others out there but the name is dying out and so is
their interest.

What about us who can't afford to take road trips or hire researchers?
The lack of volunteers making themselves available on Rootsweb, RAOGK,
etc... The apparently mostly dead surname forums (you can post a
question and wait years for an answer - if ever), and expensive
clearinghouses of information, makes it basically impossible for many of
us to progress in our research especially those who rely solely on
Internet communication.

Right now the only Virginia surnames I am working on are PEERY and
MUNCY... of Wythe, Tazewell, and Giles counties. Anyone out there?
