Hello -

We have to cancel this Wed.'s book talk - the author and speaker (Selden
Richardson) is ill and won't be able to make the event this week. We
will postpone the event to a possible date in August.

If you have questions, please email me,
Ray

Richmond author Selden Richardson will be giving a talk on Wednesday,
June 20 at 3 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room on the 2nd floor of the James
Branch Cabell Library on VCU's Monroe Park campus. Richardson will be
discussing his latest book, "The Tri-State Gang in Richmond: Murder and
Robbery in the Great Depression."

Following the talk will be a reception, along with book sales and
signing, in Special Collections and Archives on the 4th floor of the
Cabell Library. We hope that you will be able to attend.

Richardson is the author of "Built by Blacks: African American
Architecture and Neighborhoods in Richmond." He holds master degrees
from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond,
and he is a former archivist for Architectural Records at the Library of
Virginia.

Please let me know if you have any questions. And feel free to send
this email to folks you might find it of interest.

thanks,
- Ray
