Paul,

Your mention of the Melungeon Indians reminded me that it was this tribe and 
the Shawnees that Gavin Manzies, in "1421 The Year the Chinese Discovered 
America", says may have intermarried with the Chinese that he asserts 
visited the East Coast of North America in the early 1420's. I still 
undecided how much of the Menzie's assertions I am willing to believe, so 
just pass this on as another voice in the controversy over the Melungeon 
Indians.
