Ray,

John is already registered for the Conference. Due to work obligations, I
can't be there but would like to attend the reception. Can I bring a check
for it when I come, or how would you like me to handle it? It seemed a
little late to mail. I know it is past your deadline, but hope you can
squeeze me in.

Many thanks,

Margaret Peters
