        Other than Black Masters by Michael P. Johnson and James L. Roark, is
anyone familiar with any other books on the ownership of black slaves by
black freemen?  I am particularly intrigued by one article I found on the
subject that finds that about 2/3 of the black owners of slaves by the time
of the Civil War were women and that they owned, on average, over 5 slaves.
If you know of any sources, please send them along.
