Hello,

I hope you can join us for VCU's Sixth Annual Crenshaw Women's Studies
Lecture that will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Noon in the VCU
Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave, Richmond Salons 3 and 4.

This year's lecture, entitled "Participatory Documentary: Bernice Johnson
Reagon, Candie Carawan and the Sound of Equality in the Civil Rights
Movement," will be presented by Dr. Grace Elizabeth Hale, a Professor of
American Studies and History at UVA. "Dr. Hale will be sharing her research
based on her examination of documentary audio recordings, photographs, and
films made in and about the rural US South from the 1920s to 1980s and how
it relates to the civil rights movement.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Light refreshments and
discussion will  follow the lecture.

Metered street parking is available and the 801 West Main Street Parking
Deck is just across the street.
