The Friends of the Virginia State Archives present the annual Richard
Slatten Lecture on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at the Library of
Virginia, 800 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA with registration
beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Elizabeth Shown Mills, nationally respected
genealogist, author, lecturer, educator, and former editor of the
National Genealogical Society Quarterly, will deliver four lectures that
focus on research, discovery and interpretation in genealogical
research.

Mills has been a leader in genealogical education for a quarter of a
century. During her 16 years as editor of the National Genealogical
Society Quarterly, Mills made the journal into the leading forum for the
teaching of genealogical research methods and principles. Her
presentations offer a unique opportunity for learning and interaction
with the Friends of the Virginia State Archives. 

 Registration is $35 for FVSA members and $45 for non members.  Lunch is
