Good Afternoon Everyone,

I would like to make the list aware of a rare opportunity to be in the audience for a live version of the radio program "BackStory with the American History Guys" at the Virginia Historical Society at 6:00 p.m. this Thursday, May 20th. It is free and open to the public.

The subject on Thursday will be "Paying Up: The History of Taxation
From the Stamp Act of 1765 to the Tea Party Movement of 2010"

Here is the pdf flyer for the event:

If you don't know BackStory, the American History Guys are noted historians Ed Ayers, Brian Balogh, and Peter Onuf. Here is the BackStory web site if you want to learn more. You can listen to podcasts of past shows.

I hope to see many of you there.

All best,

Paul Levengood
