Tom,

Thanks for the speedy reply. I was thinking that what it was, from what I 
read by Roundtree, but in Townsend, there was mention of kneading and rising 
the bread, so I wanted to be sure I understood what I was talking about.

The story I am writing, and I hope to get a good start on the actual story 
today, will take place in winter 1608, when Pocahontas accompanied the gifts 
of food "every few days" that Powhatan sent to Smith after a fire destroyed 
the supplies that arrived by ship the first of the year.

I think I have enough understanding to get started on the story, but since 
the sources aid they took bread and venison rather than the unground corn, I 
wanted to be sure what I was saying.
