Anne,

We all know your sentiments. And we all know the sentiments of those
who don't agree with you, as both sides have preached at each other ad
nauseum. This is a history discussion list. Your sense of moral
outrage is understood and by continuing in that vein, it has become a
one drum sideshow. Enough is enough. We have the message. You are not
going to change anyone's mind by tossing another hand grenade. In
fact, you are only inflaming the moderates on here to have you tossed
off. Now if that's what you want, by all means keep right on going.
But if you wish to participate in a meaningful way, please tone it down.

Emoting away over the past doesn't solve one damned thing. We're all
trying to understand various aspects of it and what the extreme that
you preach and the counterpoint extreme are doing is hopelessly
muddying the waters.

Have you not got any pet project into which you can pour your emotions
that will make a difference to the here and now? I would suggest
finding something that can take your guilt and turn it into a useful
tool. Sex slavery is still alive and well. Tribal violence in the
Congo and other parts of Africa is also distressingly strong. Surely
one of these might get you going. At least there it is real.

But please, please stop it on this list.

Lyle
