The National Park Service has issued its final report on the
Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route (W3R), with its summary,
evaluation, and recommendation for designating the course as a National
Historic Trail.

This report is the result of six years of study, and it is both
well-written and richly illustrated. The report was not printed until
mid-March 2007 and the deadline for accepting comments from the public
is April 30, 2007.  At the same time legislation has been introduced
into Congress to designate the W3R a National Historic Trail.

The public may view the report using a Web browser. This is a 180-page
report, so it may be more convenient to download, save, and then read or
print it off-line.  More information and links to view the report are

The W3R has been working to gain broad recognition for this since 1999
by presenting events, hiking the route, and giving presentations to
raise public awareness of the W3R.  The W3R Association is asking that
interested persons voice their support for the proposed legislation by
contacting their U.S. Representatives and Senators.  The W3R Association
