Townsend's book is not as insightful as the hype would indicate, and she
makes
some incredible speculations, dubious judgments, errors of fact, etc.

Some historians think that John Smith was gay, while others speculate that he
may have been castrated while a Turkish captive in Constantinople!

The Powhatan bean, er, English, counter who accompanied Pocahontas to
England was Uttamatomakkin or "Tomocomo"--her brother-in-law and a
respected counsellor of Powhatan.
