Everyone,

You are cordially invited to attend the next noontime book event at the
Library of Virginia in Historic Downtown Richmond. This event is
co-sponsored by the Edgar Allan Poe Museum and by the Library of Virginia,
the Library of Virginia Foundation, and the Virginia Center for the Book.
Please bring a lunch and join us. Soft drinks will be available.

On Wednesday, 25 April, at noon in the first floor conference rooms, author
Randall Silvis will talk about On Night's Shore (St. Martin's Press, 2001),
a literary thriller set in New York City in 1840 and featuring Richmond's
own Edgar Allan Poe. The New York Post calls it "a riveting tale of murder
and betrayal . . . a page-turning story."

I can testify to that blurb's accuracy. On Night's Shore deserves the praise
that it has received. An exciting plot and spellbinding prose make this a
very fine historical novel.

Randall Silvis, the author of eight novels, including On Night's Shore, is
now at work on Disquiet Heart, a sequel that will be available in 2002. He
will talk about both books and read from them. Anyone interested in
high-quality historical suspense fiction will enjoy hearing from Randall
Silvis.

A book signing will follow.

John
