Dorothea, did anyone answer you on this one?  If not get back with me
after the holidays and I will go up to the WV archives and look for you.
 If someone did, would you please share?  In Wv there is a honor given
to the highest scorers in each county on a test on WV history.--in
probably about the 8th grade--the year the kids study WV history.  They
are given a little golden horseshoe pin at a presentation in the state
capital.  My son was a winner --he is now 28 so it has been a while
back.  His teacher wrote a children's book about the orginal Knights of
the Golden Horseshoe  and of course I can not think of the title nor
even her name....but I can find out for you if you still need
