Users can access some of the information on the Africans and
African-Americans abandoned by the British after the surrender on my
website, "Geography of Slavery in Virginia." For those unfamiliar,
we have placed online thousands of runaway slave and servant ads,
currently covering 1736 through 1803. Performing a detailed search
constrained to "Yorktown" will produce a number of ads from
1782-1784 listing refugees from the British camp.
