I have received messages with the attached virus from  the computers of
people who never sent me a message. This darned thing may be propagating
without the knowledge of the people from whose e-mail it is being sent, and
it may do so by reaching into an electronic address book and pretending to
reply to a message that was once received or sent out.

I have asked our technical folks in the Library of Virginia to let us know
whether there is any problem with the list. I don't think that there is, but
in any event I will let you now what I find out.
