Is there a site that would tell you what the value in today's money in
comparison to the pounds, etc. in colonial times

I have been working with a collection of business papers dating in the
first half of the 19th century and Richmond are still using pounds,
shillings, and pence in the 1850's. It looks like imported products are
listed in the British units but I've not studied it yet.
