My wife is doing final edits on her book about Amélie Rives, who was born
in Richmond on August 23, 1863. (Her father, Landon Rives, was an
engineer in the army.) The question I'd like to pose -- what might have
been going on in Richmond at that time? Was there any fighting going on
near Richmond? Was Chimborazo receiving wounded from distant fields?

Replies can be directed to Donna Lucey at [log in to unmask]

Many thanks,

Henry Wiencek
