John Rolfe came from Heacham, Norfolk, and the family is well documented in
the various editions of Adventurers of Purse and Person and in Philip
Barbour's
Pocahontas and Her World.  I am no genealogist, but I haven't ever heard of
any doubts about his English heritage.
