This is a self-governing body that has voted overwhelmingly to enforce membership requirements. This is not a case of "discrimination" against blacks because of their color unless, of course, one is viewing it from the politically correct stance of "anything that deprives decendents of slaves of anything is bad and shouldn't be allowed." There are whites with something to lose here, too, not just the descendents of slaves. But, whites battling Indians automatically would turn public sympathy to the Indians so the emphasis must be on Indians "disenfranchising" blacks. The Cherokee have the right to determine who is and who is not Cherokee, irrespective of public opinion and network news hype. And, if violating a treaty is what they are doing, more power to them. The treaty is with the US government, not with the descendents of slaves, and they've got a heck of alot of catching up to do.
