Prior to my taking the DNA test I was able to prove lineage to my direct ancestor Charles Lewis. After taking the DNA test, and receiving the results I realized that this was a similar line to the one I had proved. In other words the ancestors were traced backwards through England, Wales, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and into North Africa. I took my test through Family Tree DNA, which gives you the option of being contacted by DNA cousins. Several of my DNA cousins also traced their lineage to the Lewis line.

That is it in a nutshell.

Hello Anita

Thank you for letting me know of the discussion of your book , Notes and
Documents of Free Persons of Color." I am particularly interested in
knowing how you connected your DNA results to your Lewis ancestors.

Regards, Phyllis
