I had hoped that an Ironmasters meeting could be piggybacked on the
MAAC meeting in Virginia Beach, VA, USA 15-18 March (as was done a
few years ago at Rehoboth Beach). But in spite of the recent
discoveries at Falling Creek (America's first ironworks) and a
bloomery demonstration at Colonial Williamsburg there appears to
little interest. Only three people have come forward with papers and
I have not heard that many people are planning on attending. It is my
intention, unless I get a lot of emails during the next week, to
thank the MAAC organizers for the offer of space and cancel. The
papers will be moved to another session and the bloomery demo cancelled.
