--OR a profound connection, since several authors are calling the Iraq
fiasco merely the latest of America's "Indian Wars." Hmmmm

I ordered my tickets for 12-13 May recently via a very convoluted process
of incessant click-ons to various sites, most of which were irrelevant to
the 400th activies on "the Island." Starting with the official Colonial
Williamsburg website, I was as likely to get dinner reservations at The
King's Arms as I was to see the Queen's Head! I almost gave up--which
probably disqualifies me as a hardy colonist who would have persisted
through the tortures of 1607. CW appears like the 600 pound gorilla in
the room, and if there is a dedicated website JUST FOR JAMESTOWN
TICKETING, I missed it amid the special packages for Busch Gardens,
etc. Once my purchase was finally confirmed, the site indicated that
the tickets would be sent out shortly before May, but the CW email
followup asked when I would pick them up, which would be a rather long
commute from St. Louis.

My tickets also read 9 AM for both days. Any clue as to what that
means (as in they expire by noon)?

I hope the process can be streamlined or made more user-friendly soon,
and I suspect that a lot of locals expect to drive out to the familiar sites
at the last moment, sans advanced ticketing.

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes to ALL

Fred Fausz, in the land of raging Winter AND Summer storms and
persistent power outages. Jefferson really needs to do
something about this Louisiana Purchase "wilderness"
