I am trying to find a (Musical) Professor Umbreck who led the Smithfield Brass Band back in the 1860's and/or the 1870's. He may be from Isle of Wight County or from the Richmond Area. The only reference that I can find to him is in the Museum of the Confederacy. He is not listed as a Confederate soldier, which is not unusual. Most Confederate Band directors retained a civilian status of some sort.
