I have been asked to post this position announcement:

DIGITAL TECHNICIAN.  Full-time position with benefits at the Papers of Thomas Jefferson: Retirement Series. Responsibilities include coding historical documents to support electronic and letterpress publication of Jefferson's correspondence and the on-line publication of family letters; transcribing historical documents; trouble-shooting and correcting tagging errors; maintaining and improving digital  images of manuscript documents; proofreading; and other projects as assigned. Requirements include ability to master XML-based desktop publishing, digital image manipulation, and database systems, to follow complex oral and written instructions and a detailed style sheet, to keyboard accurately and rapidly, and to read 19th-century handwriting. BA/BS required, with some training in history or related fields preferred.
