On Ann Cotton and her description of Bacon's Rebellion (most likely
based on the longer account that her husband had written after the end
of 1676 and first published in the 12 September 1804 issue of the
Richmond Enquirer), you might start with Jay B. Hubbell's "John and Ann
Cotton, of 'Queen's Creek,' Virginia," American Literature 10 (1938):
179-201.
