Indeed it is, and it has been for many years, since about the time
the Visitor Center opened as an interpretative museum of the civil
war. Unfortunately, interpretation only seems to go so far. A
similar bronze statue of Jefferson Davis, his son and a mulatto boy
he also raised was offered to the museum but it was declined. It is
still looking for a home. So, anybody looking for a $100,000 piece
of art?
