The precise location of College Camp may not be known, but I have no
doubt it was very near the buildings of the College of William and Mary.
In September 1775 when the first companies of Virginia troops assembled
to form the new army of which Patrick Henry was to be the commanding
colonel, their encampment was required to be less than two miles from
the city of Williamsburg; and because of its name, I suspect that it was
probably adjacent to the college. See Virginia Magazine of History and
Biography 85 (1977): 156-159.

Can anyone provide information about a place called College Camp?

According to his account book, Francis Taylor loaned Lt. John Worsham
money on 15 Dec 1776 at College Camp and again on the 20th of Dec at
Maupins. Francis Taylor (of Orange) was at that time serving as a
captain in the 2nd Virginia Regiment of Foot. I think that they were in
Virginia at the time. They were in Williamsburg on the 18th of January
1777.
