The American Revolution officially ended with the signing if the Treaty of 
Paris in 1783. When the 1st Continental Congress met in 1774 at 
Philadelphia, Patrick Henry, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and other members 
if the delegation begin refering to themselves as Americans.
