Thank you all for information on David Ross.

Specifically, I am looking for information on his estate near the Point of
Fork
during the Revolution.

This is a transcript from Richard C. Bush's history of Col. Thomas Gaskins'
Virginia Battalion:

"...At Point of Fork, Gaskins’s troops pitched camp on the plantation of
David Ross,
the state’s commercial agent. Based on Ross’s later report, they 'subsisted
upon
[my Estate] whilst here, besides this they destroyed everything in their
power…. I have suffered greatly.'"

I am working with the Town of Columbia on developing a living history
event based on the action at Point of Fork on 5 June 1781, and the location
of Ross's estate at the point (at least the side of the river it was on) is
important
to the flow of events for the battle, which was a running engagement across
the James.
